the basics
I have a zero-tolerance policy for bigotry and jerks.
I enjoy writing longform roleplay posts, but I can adjust to shorter if need be!
I prefer to write with people over the age of 21.
If we're writing together and you'd like to chat and/or plot more, please ask for my Discord.
notes
Writing is one of my main forms of self-care, so let's try to make it an enjoyable experience for each other. I work in game development, so I'm often busy, but I will always try to make time in the evenings for in-game roleplaying.
Please feel free to hit me up if you’d like to roleplay with Tamsyn. I love writing and can never get enough, but adulting means I have to be picky about what I can and can’t maintain thread-wise.
Discord is my personal preference for lengthy scenes, since it allows me to pause if needed for IRL stuff. I will absolutely roleplay in-game, but if you want a longer thread, let’s exchange usernames.

Tamsyn has extensive scarring across her body from several lifetimes of experimental procedures and battles inflicted upon her by her Garlean captors. The most notable of these are on the left side of her face. Her eye has been replaced or severely altered, resulting in a scar around the eye. More scars run across her cheek, nose, and lip. Before her escape, Tamsyn was only outside on a few occasions, and was fully covered when she was taken outdoors. As a result, she has a rather unhealthy pallor. She's started developing freckles across her cheeks, nose, and shoulders as she spends more time in the light of day.Tamsyn's ear and tail have fur that's a bit longer than a typical shorthair Mi'qote, with a slightly wavy texture.

"I don't understand so many things. I wish I knew what it was like to have a childhood, or a family-- But all I have are nightmares. It's hard to imagine a life beyond that darkness, even in the bright light of day."
Tamsyn's life in the labs of Garlemald have left her severely emotionally stunted. She is often affectless, and may come off as inappropriately apathetic in many situations. Despite this, she is quite naïve and guileless; Tamsyn will often trust anyone who is kind to her with minimal wariness, assuming good intentions once they have shown they don't wish to harm her.In general, Tamsyn is very curious about her new home in the outside world, and will ask many questions if she feels comfortable enough to speak to someone. However, she is quick to fall silent if she feels rebuked, fearing punishment. She's often quiet and observant when alone, attempting to learn how the world works.

aether manipulation.
Tamsyn can siphon and channel vast quantities of aether. She was designed to function as a "battery" for a second combat unit, but can also use it herself.

fire.
Tamsyn has a penchant for fire magic, and the flames come easily to her call. Combined with her aether capacity, this makes her horribly effective on the battlefield.

???.
The Garleans performed experiments on Tamsyn for decades. With procedures that included the implantation of Allagan technology, voidsent splicing, and other horrors, even she doesn't know all she's capable of.
the labs.
Tamsyn does not remember who or what she was before was T-4Z119. Every day in the lab was nearly the same as the last, and while the horrors she was subjected to changed, the routine did not.She slept. She ate. She was taken out for procedures and testing. She suffered, when they made major changes. She would wake up most mornings to do it all over again. Before her escape, T-4Z119 was painstakingly isolated and made ignorant of the outside world. The concept of rain and snow and sunlight were entirely foreign to her; she didn’t realize the air could be any temperature save the controlled climate inside the laboratory. They had no reason to educate her, and thus she was illiterate. All she knew was pain, fighting, and aether— How to channel it, how to siphon it, how to use it to cause destruction. The day she was removed from her cell to be taken to The Black Shroud, that all changed. The Garlean Empire fell apart while she was afield, and she was dragged around the shadowed forests, kept like an animal while the unit holding her tried to formulate some plan to regain their glory. Much to their misfortune, they encountered a terror in the woods. After decimating the Garleans, the creature called Criticality freed T-4Z119.Criticality and Adra made sure she was set up with a room at the Carline Canopy and enough gil to get on her feet, along with advice on how to begin her journey in this new world.
freedom.
Tamsyn became tentatively established in Gridania, continuing to live at the inn while earning gil working as a courier for the various guilds throughout the city. She learned the basics of social interactions, to some extent, but made very few connections. The young woman lived in the open world for about a year, beginning to learn her letters from a guildsman and starting to learn more about the world. Unfortunately, her status as an outsider made it difficult for her to truly fit in, which made it all the easier for Garlemald's remnants to track her down.
recapture.
A remaining faction of loyal Garleans, seeking to rebuild their empire, found Tamsyn's file in the ruins of the lab where she had spent most of her life. Her abilities sparked their interest, and her last known location made it easy enough to track her down. While on a delivery, she was ambushed by several members of the faction and subdued before being taken back to Garlemald as a prisoner.Despite her history, Tamsyn had developed a sense of rebellion during her time in the outside world. This newfound resistance did not serve her well in her new home, and she found herself in a battle of wills with her new overlords. While some try to tempt her to give in and serve for the sake of better treatment, as of now, Tamsyn stubbornly refuses to concede to the Garleans. Whether she will hold out, however, remains to be seen...
HOOKS

the hunted.
a valuable asset
Tamsyn was a high-value asset for the Garleans, and any remaining fringe groups or other entities may pay well for someone to retrieve their investment.

kindred spirits.
a hint of darkness
Over the course of many procedures, Tamsyn was spliced with various Voidsent capabilities to improve her aether siphoning abilities. The stench of darkness is faint, but present, and easily identifiable to those who know the Void's scent.

ingenue.
lost little lamb
Tamsyn is new to the world at large, and is far too trusting of those who approach her with apparent kindness. Their intentions may be pure-- or perhaps not.
